Eligibility
To apply a business must:
- Fulfil the definition of a SME (click here) and be located within the administrative area of Herefordshire Council, Shropshire Council, Staffordshire County Council (including Stoke-on-Trent) and Telford and Wrekin
- Fit within certain sectors. Those which cannot apply include:
- Businesses involved in the retail sale of goods / services to the general public using the Town and Country Planning use classes of A1 to A5 (shops, financial and professional services (to the public), restaurants , drinking establishments and fast food takeaways)
- Online retail or rental businesses
- Home-based businesses that mainly provide services or goods on a similar basis to classes A1-A5 *
- Land-based businesses including farms and other primary food producers
- Not be in arrears with business rates or council tax payments (this will only be checked when the grant has otherwise been approved)
*Businesses that provide services to both the general public and other businesses should discuss their potential eligibility with the project officer.
